Print work

In the project „Neue Blüten“, which translates as „new counterfeits“, I asked myself the question: „Where is the art of printing on paper still relevant in our everyday life?“. And the answer is naturely: money, money! On the other hand I figured that the design of the present Euro notes is based on the compromise of not compromising anyone and relying on the very brittle narrative that our culture somehow directly deduces itself from the ancient Greek or Romans. This approach of pleasing everybody but being as boring or devoid of any human expression (only architecture!) made me think of designed my own Euro-notes, showing my reflection on all the human aspects I see here and my point of view on Europe and its tasks and problems. Each of the notes is dedicated to a topic: 10 for borders, migration and war, 20 for poverty and social (de)stabilization, 50 for energy and its crisis, 100 for garbage and wast. The printing was done from an etched Copper plate, using Aqua Tinta.

In the following works I focussed on the Self-portrait, Nature and Illustrations:

The human body

These paintings and illustrations of the human body work out the symbolism of the pose and flows of force and energy. I used pencil, ink, charcoal, watercolor and acrylic markers (which are one of my favourite tools here).
