Interactive Visuals: animated computer graphics

I regularly work on improving my toolset of interactive, animated computer graphics. MIDI controllers together with cables.gl (a browser-based WebGL plattform) and cathodemer allow a live VJ setup, which I use to perform together with artists in the field of experimental music. In this way I worked with the ensemble Slezak5 and the recent reformation Slezak4 with artists like Herbert Lacina, Ed Readon, Elisabeth Kelvin, Lena Wicke-Aengenheyster (Monsterfrau), Günter Zimmermann, Franz Petzo, Gloria Damijan, Bernd Oberlinninger, Heimo Fladl and Andreas Eichhorn, as well as Jopa Jokatin.

Furthermore I use animated CG for film work, for example with the electronic music of Norbert Math in my documentary about the performance of the composition „The cure of Melancholy“ by composer Robert Crow.

RecycliCube: interactive video installation

For my diploma work I chose the topic of interactive video installation, which I realized in the project RecycliCube. It manifests the virtual space of digital data and the internet using a dark space. A beamer projects the image of a surveillance camera onto 3 clothes, that are mounted in increasing distance from the beamer on the ceiling. By filming its own projection a feedback loop is generated. Illuminated objects like spectators, who are in the space, are recorded and their data copied. The cothes are moved by air flow generated by the motion of the spectators themselves, representing how fragile and of a temporal character our image is in the digital world.

The following videos show recordings of my diploma exam, which took place within RecycliCube. The first one right below shows self-consistant pattern together with ambient sound from the gallery.

This part recorded the gathering prior to the exam and discussion. (only in German; and low audio quality from the surveillance camera).

In this part I debate on the question, if my artwork should be understood in advance, before visiting it (only in German; and low audio quality from the surveillance camera).
